Uka N. Leonard

President, Owner & Founder

Uka worked as a Foreign Customs Agent where she investigated the smuggling and poaching of protected game animals. Her diligent investigations resulted in convictions of several members of criminal organizations. She speaks three languages and has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Associates in Journalism and Accounting. She is the driving force, mostly behind the scenes, and is determined that Black Hawk International Security achieves the highest quality of service.

David W. Leonard

CEO, Owner & Founder

David is a former Patrol Deputy and transferred his training and experience to the Security Industry. He has several years of experience working with Federal Security Contractors. He has received commendations from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Services, Army Research and Engineering Command in DC for his work. David has been a NC State certified instructor since 2005. He is a State Certified Armed Instructor for pistol, shotgun, and rifle. He also teaches advanced firearms classes along with North Carolina Concealed Carry. He is also certified to teach baton and OC Spray, as well as an NRA instructor. He also has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. 

M. J. Forrest  IV

Vice President, Owner

M.J. is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S.Marine Corps, with over 20 years of service. He has held various leadership positions during his career. Upon his exit, he was the Current Operations Officer for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, overseeing the daily flight operations, training and deployments of 34 squadrons (488 aircraft) in North Carolina and South Carolina. He ran the Tactical Air Command Center at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan where he oversaw the daily flight operations in support of combat operations in the Helmand River District of Afghanistan. He participated in four combat deployments to Iraqi, a year in Afghanistan and participated in a deployment to Japan.

His personal decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medal with combat distinguishing device, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendations medals and numerous campaign and service ribbons. Additionally he has a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors degree in Marketing.                    

Preston Winters

Regional Operations Manager & Instructor

Preston is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Post 9/11 he was cross-trained to augment Air Force Security Police and EST (Emergency Services Team). There he was tasked with Base Security and Military Police duties along with Emergency Response to a variety of incidents i.e. Terrorist threats and deployed patrols. He would be among the first group to respond to high risk incidents. He also served in Operation Enduring Freedom where he coordinated ground crews for aircraft readiness that resulted in on-time take offs of 49 sorties. He has worked closely with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman assisting in training flight crews with the latest electronic development and assisted with training at Red Flag Air Combat at Nellis AFB, NAS Fallon, and MCAS Cherry Point. He has instructed Government and contract personnel in the operations and maintenance of aircraft warfare systems. And, is a NC State certified PPSB instructor.
